SLO County Market Update & great read on Central Coast “FREE SUMMER CONCERTS″
As we head into summer, that means there are FREE, all-ages concerts to enjoy across the county. Pack a picnic, bring your low-back chairs or blankets to sit on and enjoy a wide range of musical talent. Most events offer food and beverages for purchase and do not allow dogs. All are fun and family-friendly.
*INTERESTING FACT –
The largest agricultural crop produced in SLO County is strawberries, with a total value of nearly $278 million.
“FREE SUMMER CONCERTS”
SAN LUIS OBISPO
Mission Plaza
June 21st – September 6th / Fridays 5:00 – 8:00pm
The opening act starts at 5pm, and the headliner goes on at 6pm. Includes free bike valet. No outside alcohol allowed. No glass allowed. Beer and cider are served in cans. Attendees are encouraged to bring a reusable cup for wine or purchase a souvenir cup on their first pour.
NIPOMO
Nipomo Regional Park
June 26th – August 28th / Wednesdays 5:30 – 7:30pm
Concessions available.
PISMO BEACH
Dinosaur Caves Park
June 9th & July 14th / Sundays 1:00 – 4:00pm
No alcohol is allowed. Food is available for purchase. The city also offers activities for kids.
TEMPLETON
Templeton Park
June 12th – August 21st / Wednesdays 6:00 – 8:00pm
No concert on July 24th. Beer and wine available for purchase.
AVILA BEACH
Avila Beach Promenade
June 7th & August 30th / Fridays 4:00 – 8:00pm
Enjoy live music during this weekly Farmer’s Market on the Promenade. Catch the free trolley into town, avoiding parking fees and earning you one free market buck to spend.
ATASCADERO
Atascadero Lake Park
June 15th – August 31st / Saturdays 6:30 – 8:30pm
Atascadero does not host concerts on the following Saturdays due to other city events scheduled in the park: June 22nd, July 13th, August 17th and August 24th.
GROVER BEACH
Ramona Garden Park
June 9th – August 18th / Sundays 3:00 – 6:00pm
Concerts are held in conjunction with the Grover Beach Market, featuring food trucks, a bounce house and beer and wine for sale.
PASO ROBLES
Downtown City Park
June 13th – August 22nd / Thursdays 6:00 – 8:00pm
No concert on July 4th or 25th. Proceeds from concession sales benefit the REC Foundation, a local non-profit organization that helps provide recreation scholarships to members of the community.
ARROYO GRANDE
Heritage Square Park
July 4th – September 22nd / 4th of July 11:00am – 4:00pm, Sundays 1:00 – 3:00pm
AG is kicking off it’s summer concert series on July 4th with two concerts; the first at 11am and the second from 2-4pm. Every Sunday following, concerts will be held from 1-3pm. Raffles each week support a different local non-profit.
LOS OSOS
Sea Pines Golf Resort
June 8th – October 26th / Saturdays 2:00 – 8:00pm
Although not a city sponsored event, Sea Pines Golf Resort hosts “Barefoot Concerts on the Green”. No outside food or beverages are allowed. The opener begins at 2pm and the main act performs from 3-6pm. The closer plays in The Clubhouse Grill from 6-8pm.
