Righetti Ranch Parks

In May, the City of San Luis Obispo opened a new trailhead at Righetti Hill, marking the first step in developing the Righetti Hill Park System. The long-planned project will include three distinct parks; a community park, a linear park, and a pocket park. Earlier this month, City Council approved a construction contract for the larger Community Park, with groundbreaking anticipated to begin in the spring.

Community Park

11.25 Acres

The largest of the three proposed spaces, Community Park will be bursting with amenities. Located between Tiburon Way and Righetti Hill, the park will have basketball, tennis, pickleball, futsal and bocce ball courts, restrooms, parking lots, a barbecue and picnic area, bike pump track, play area, shaded seating and multi-use paths. It will also connect with adjacent neighborhoods and the new trailheads at Righetti Hill, while providing ample parking for visitors.

Linear Park

1.16 Acres

A small dog park and community garden will be situated between the railroad and Righetti Ranch Road at the corner of Righetti Ranch and Tiburon Way. The park will feature separate areas for large and small dogs, a multi-use pathway, covered picnic area, hydration station, raised garden beds with a compost area and a lighted parking lot.

Pocket Park

.20 Acres

This small green space will be situated at the bend in Twin Creek Road (close to where it intersects with Righetti Ranch Road). This park will provide a small lawn with ample shade trees, along with a butterfly garden, bench seating, a walkway and chess table.
